Russell Russo LeVasseur was born on Sept. 3, 1987 in Ventura, Calif….Parents are Phil LeVasseur and Irene Russo…Nicknamed “Sim Card”…Is majoring in environmental studies at UCSB and aspires to one day work with animals and their environments…Is involved in Campus Crusade at UCSB…Also enjoys playing volleyball, competing in triathlons, and playing cards and video games…The Smashing Pumpkins and 311 are two of his favorite musical groups…Names “The 40-Year Old Virgin” as his favorite movie and enjoys the “Harry Potter” series…Lance Armstrong is one of his heroes.

Played at Dos Pueblos High School under head coach Chris Parrish…Helped the Chargers to back-to-back CIF Division IV titles in 2005 and 2006 marking the first championship titles for Dos Pueblos in over 20 years for Dos Pueblos…Winning CIF is his most memorable athletic achievement…Was twice picked as his team’s MVP and Best Defensive Player…Named First Team All-CIF in 2006 and Second Team All-CIF in 2005…Was an all-league and all-conference selection…Selected as MVP of the County All-Stars in 2006…Also competed in volleyball…Was a member of the National Honor Society.

Played with Santa Barbara Water Polo Club, which he helped to the 2006 National Junior Olympics Championship.
